# License and updates

### Entering your key

`Cashback Tracker` → `License`.

Paste the key you were given and press the activate button. The plugin checks it with keywordrush.com and the card at the top of the page tells you where you stand.

That check needs your server to be able to reach keywordrush.com. If the key never confirms, and you are sure it is correct, your host is most likely blocking outgoing connections — that is the first thing to ask them about.

### One key, one site

A license is activated against the domain it is used on. The plugin remembers which one, and warns you if it later finds itself running somewhere else.

**Moving to a new domain** — activate the license again on the new site. The old activation is released for you.

**Copying a site for staging** — you will see a notice saying the address does not match. If your live license is healthy, that notice is informational: it is telling you this looks like a copy, not that anything has stopped. Deactivate the plugin on copies you are not actually using.

Running the plugin on a domain your license is not valid for is outside the license terms. If you genuinely need two live sites, you need two licenses.

### Updates

Once the key is active, Cashback Tracker updates like any other plugin — the update appears in `Dashboard` → `Updates` and you install it from there.

There is nothing else to configure. If updates are not appearing, the license card is the place to look first.

### When a license expires

**The plugin keeps working.** Nothing switches off, no data is touched, and your members notice nothing.

What you lose is everything that comes *after* the version you have: no new features, no updates, no security fixes, no support. You will see a notice saying updates expired on a given date.

Renewing restores all of it, including access to versions released while you had lapsed.

You are warned in advance — a notice appears about three weeks before the date.

### When a license is suspended or revoked

This is different, and rare. It means the license itself is no longer valid — not that it simply ran out of time.

Here the plugin **does** stop: you will see a notice saying features are now disabled, or that they will be disabled on a given date unless the problem is resolved. That grace period is there so you are never surprised.

If this happens and you do not know why, contact support rather than reinstalling — reinstalling will not change it.

### Support

Support runs on its own clock, shown on the License page alongside updates. It can end while updates are still running, or the other way round, depending on what you bought.

### Lifetime licenses

If your license is a lifetime one, the expiry section above does not apply to you — updates never stop. The License page says so plainly.
