# Linkwise

### What you need

| Field            | Where to find it                                                |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **API Username** | Your Linkwise API credentials — not necessarily your login name |
| **API Password** | The same place. Treat it as a password.                         |
| **Affiliate ID** | Your affiliate account number in Linkwise                       |

All three are required. The API username and password are issued separately from the ones you sign in with, so check you are using the API pair.

### Setting it up

1. `Cashback Tracker` → `Networks`. Linkwise is already in the list — press **Configure** on its row.
2. Paste the API Username, API Password and Affiliate ID.
3. Tick **Enable network**.
4. Set **Default cashback**.
5. Save, then press **Refresh shops** on the row.

### What it imports

* **Shops** — programmes you are accepted into
* **Coupons** — offers and voucher codes
* **Orders** — transactions, on the schedule you set

**Linkwise logos are small** — typically 120 pixels wide, which looks soft on a modern screen. Use `Cashback Tracker` → `Shop catalog` → **Bulk tools** → **Logos** → **Replace all** to fetch sharper ones by domain. See [Shop logos](/shops-and-cashback-rates/shop-logos.md).

### Linkwise-specific settings

**Pending validated** — Linkwise has a state between reported and confirmed: the sale has been validated but is not finally settled. You choose whether that counts as pending, approved or declined on your site.

Pending is the safe reading. Validated is not the same as paid, and a transaction can still change afterwards.

### The sub ID

Linkwise calls it **subid1**. Cashback Tracker sends `cbtrkr-<member id>`.

### Getting orders sooner

**Do not set up a postback for Linkwise.** It has a built-in module, and the plugin polls it over an authenticated API.

Adding a postback would mean creating a second, custom network — and the same purchase would then arrive twice, once from each. Both copies are stored, and **the member is credited twice**, at two different cashback rates.

To have sales show up faster, lower **Download new orders** in `Settings` → `General`. It goes down to every 15 minutes, and a short interval is cheap because it only asks for the last couple of days.

### When nothing imports

**Authentication failures.** The most common cause is using the account login rather than the API credentials. They are different pairs.

**Shops import, orders do not.** Check the Affiliate ID — transactions are reported against it, and shops import fine without it being right.

**Orders arrive with no member.** The subid1 did not come back. Check the member was logged in and used a **Go to shop** link.
